Children from across the country enjoyed a unique opportunity to live and train like professional footballers at our residential 5-day Diwali football camp from 26 to 30 October 2024. Leading the camp was one of India’s leading youth coaches, Jeevan Jayaraj, from Indian Super League (ISL) club, NorthEast United FC, which is owned by noted actor, John Abraham.

The camp was conducted at Corvuss American Academy, a world-class sports school, located at Karjat in Maharashtra. The school is set across a sprawling 44-acre campus with world-class sports facilities that include:

•  FIFA standard artificial turf football field & natural grass training grounds
• a state-of-the-art gymnasium
• an Olympic size swimming pool
• an all-weather synthetic athletics track
• an Indoor basketball arena
• international standard tennis courts
• air-conditioned dormitories

During the camp, girls and boys who participated did double training sessions in the morning and evening while spending the day understanding the basics of sports science and the things they need to do outside of football training to improve as footballers.

This included gym sessions to understand the importance of strength & conditioning, sports psychology sessions, video analysis sessions to understand tactics better, a session on the importance of good recovery & rest, swimming pool sessions and much more.

Over the course of the camp, Coach Jeevan from NorthEast United FC observed the children and ended by giving them feedback on how they did across the 5 days.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience for participants to deepen their knowledge of football while learning to live away from home comforts and developing into more independent, confident students.
